1875 All Saints Chapel, Raleigh, N.C.: built in carpenter Gothic style as sanctuary of Church of the Good Shepherd, which has applied for demolition permit

Bridges and other historic structures of Madison County, Iowa: potentially targets for arsonists, who have destroyed one bridge, damaged another, and damaged farmhouse used in Clint Eastwood movie based on Robert James Waller's best-selling novel

Turn-of-20th-c. Druid Hills parks, Atlanta: designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, spared destruction by freeway proposed in 1960s, fixed up with $4 million in public and private funds
