c. 1840 Moross House, Detroit: Greek revival structure
built on farm originally belonging to area's
French settlers, bought by local couple from city
last fall for $200,000, to be renovated and opened
for tours
c. 1950 Jimi Hendrix House, Seattle: two-bedroom
house where psychedelic guitarist lived as a boy moved
in September to nearby Renton, Wash., across the street
from his grave

Dodona Manor, Leesburg, Va.: home of Gen. George
C. Marshall, author of landmark plan to rebuild Europe
after World War II, reopened for tours in December
after six-year, $2.2 million restoration
1889 Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Sacramento,
Calif.: Roman Catholic diocese commissioned four-year,
$34.5 million renovation and modernization of architect
Bryan Clinch's Italian Renaissance-style design;
work included uncovering original wood floors and
reopening sealed-off 175-foot dome
