929 Loew’s Akron, Ohio: designed to seat 2,600 vaudeville patrons in setting evoking courtyard of Moorish castle, improved for contemporary cultural events by $22.5 million expansion/restoration

1929 Continental Life Building, St. Louis: art deco skyscraper, empty for almost 30 years, renovated as 107 apartments

1914 Davenport Hotel, Spokane, Wash.: built for northwest waffle king Louis Davenport, closed for 17 years, updated and restored at cost of $30 million
