Jan Rothschild Named New Vice President for Communications and Marketing at the National Trust for Historic Preservation

Washington, D.C. (January 25, 2007) The National Trust for Historic Preservation is pleased to announce the appointment of Jan Rothschild as its new Vice President for Communications and Marketing. Rothschild, who comes to the National Trust from the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, will be the first Vice President to oversee the National Trust's newly created Department of Communications and Marketing.

At the Whitney Museum, Rothschild was Associate Director for Communications and Marketing, overseeing public relations, marketing, new media, community and government affairs and visitor's services. Previously Rothschild served as Chief Communications Officer at Washington, D.C.'s Corcoran Gallery of Art, as an associate producer at National Public Radio, and in communications and public affairs at a number of other institutions, including, the American Planning Association, the American Society of Landscape Architects and the May Department Stores Company.

National Trust president Richard Moe said Rothschild's diverse background made her an ideal fit to lead the National Trust's newest department. "All of us at the National Trust are excited to have Jan Rothschild on board as our new Vice President for Communications and Marketing," said National Trust president Richard Moe. "From her extensive career in journalism, communications and marketing, Jan brings enormous talent, energy and experience to this new post. The National Trust has ambitious plans for this new department, and I am confident that Jan is the right person for the job."
